Our stated goal is modern medicine for women. The spectrum of our gynecology department encompasses all standard and specialized surgical procedures of the female reproductive organs. Our physicians utilize all interventions and modern treatment methods within the field of gynecology.

Endoscopy and minimally invasive surgery (MIS) are of particular importance: In this area, the clinic enjoys supraregional recognition and significance. Chief Physician Dr. Roos has been MIC III certified since 2014 and was recertified in 2019 and 2025. This certification places him among the few gynecologists nationwide to hold this qualification. It attests to Dr. Roos's exceptional expertise and experience in the field of minimally invasive gynecological surgery.

The use of laparoscopy (keyhole surgery) in the treatment of benign conditions such as fibroids (uterine fibroids) or ovarian cysts is established as standard practice. In addition to the increasingly important laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy (LASH), which preserves the cervix, we also perform total hysterectomy (TLH). Due to our expertise, the need for open abdominal surgery, particularly in cases of malignant diseases of the uterus and cervix, but also in cases of uterine fibroids, is rare. Besides the use of endoscopy in cancer treatment, complex surgeries for endometriosis or congenital malformations of the uterus or vagina are also performed minimally invasively.

The Women's Clinic is thus one of only a few clinics nationwide that masters the entire spectrum of endoscopic gynecological surgeries. We also use this so-called keyhole technique vaginally, i.e., from the vagina, to treat bleeding disorders. Operative hysteroscopy often offers the possibility of preserving the uterus. Most of these procedures can be performed on an outpatient basis, which is discussed with the patient after appropriate consultation.

Another focus is the treatment of chronic recurrent infections and skin changes of the internal and external genitalia, particularly cervical cell changes, known as dysplasia. In a specialized consultation, patients are referred for appropriate therapies using special diagnostic procedures (video colposcopy). For increasingly younger patients, minimally invasive procedures—such as the targeted removal of abnormal cells using an electrocautery loop instead of knife conization—are performed to achieve a lower rate of complications, including those related to future pregnancies. We have also prepared an information brochure for you on this topic: "The most important questions and answers about dysplasia (cell changes) in gynecology".

Another focus of our clinical practice is pelvic floor weakness with symptoms of prolapse and urinary incontinence. These issues, collectively referred to as prolapse surgery and urogynecology, affect women of all ages who often only consult a gynecologist after experiencing a significant reduction in their quality of life. Our goal is to refer the patient to conservative (e.g., medication) or surgical therapy after a comprehensive medical history and thorough diagnostics. In addition to traditional surgical procedures, we also utilize modern techniques, such as the TVT-0 sling procedure.
